Teach To Learn is an online network for the exchange of ideas, culture, and music. Our programs elevate and celebrate cultural diversity and artistic excellence through authentic online events that empower traditional artists around the world. We connect musicians, teachers, classrooms, and communities across world regions. Our programs strive to transform individuals and audiences, no matter their age, ability, or background, to be more culturally competent, creative, and curious.
This project began as a culmination of seven years of education, performance, and research in a wide array of arts-focused schools and community organizations throughout South and Central Asia, the Middle East, East Africa, and the United States. The founders sought to create an online network based on community values, musical excellence, and cultural authenticity. They began connecting artists and educators around the world with a simple idea: that music was at the core of our shared history as human beings and a powerful tool to be leveraged for increasing development capacity, addressing inequality and access to education, strengthening diplomatic relations, and improving quality of life.
Our flagship program is Culture Connect, a live-streaming cultural exchange featuring a traditional musician in a connected classroom or community space. The Culture Connect catalog is designed for K-12 Education and Creative Aging communities in the United States. We employ frameworks modeled directly from National Arts Anchor Standards, benchmarks for Social Emotional Learning, and best practices for improved wellbeing in seniors. Our current catalog includes 30 traditional musicians, representing 15 distinct world cultures and counting.
